It seem a little to good to be true compared to the other lvn programs in Sacramento. I am going to an orientation on Wednesday. Just looking for any information u can get.

I don't know much except there are a lot of pre reqs..... but I have been checking out schools in Sac as well can you let me know how the orientation went and tell me the info you did find out? [email protected].

Hi Rebecca,

I skipped out on the orientation because classes don't start until June. The school is pretty nice and the woman I spoke with was helpful. I wish I would have staye for the orientation to find out how Lon the prereqs take to complete. I'm sure I will head back over soon. Orientations are wednesdays at 8:15 in the multipurpose room. The program is 15,000 or so but financial aid is available. I will post more when I find out

Thanks for the info... I have not been to orientation but from the info I gathered....there are a lot of pre req's you have to do and i did not know if they offered them there or if you have to go to city college...are you checking into other options? If so can you please keep me posted? Thanks

The length of the pre reqs @ Charles A Jones are different for each course.

Anatomy - T/Th. - July 20, 2010 - 18 weeks - 530pm-830pm

Pharmacology M/W - June 2, 2010 - 9 weeks - 530pm-830pm

Twin Rivers is another adult school that offers an LVN program for $12,000. You need to have CNA, med terminology and anatomy completed. Only prob is that the program is part time and almost 2 years long.. but that might work for some people..

Besides Twin Rivers what do you think about Kaplan, Western, Unitek or SJVC? From the research I have been doing it sounds like I should take a year and do my pre reqs and then go from there...I really wanted to go to SCC or AR but I don't think I want to deal with the lottery process......which schools have you been researching....and what decisions if any have you made? Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!!!:yeah:

Twin Rivers is located in the north highlands area. Do you have an email address or aim? I can send you more info that way.

I don't believe twin rivers has an lvn program that us accredited?

They do have an LVN program that's accredited. My mom went there and some of her friends.

There's a list of all the accredited vocational nursing programs in CA on this site:

Kaplan is closest to my home but all the bad reviews have made me mark it off the list lol

Everyone I know that went to western says they regret it.

I was told that the LVN program at SJVC isn't offered in Sac..?

I've heard the most success stories from students at unitek.

The cost of tuition for all these nursing programs are discouraging!

I think the prereqs at twin river will take a little longer than I would like. I know that this may be the case for all if the schools in the area. Is it too much to ask for a two month free accredited lvn program. Lol. The good thing about Charles a jones is the financial aid.
