Has anyone feeling the end of semester syndrome?

I developed a new diagnosis call, end of semester syndrome R/T nursing school

Assessment:

Student states "I cannot wait for the semester to end"

lack of motivation, attention deficit, grimacing when picking up med surg book, pain of 8 when driving to class, compacted brain, inability to focus, tachycardia before final, insomnia

Diagnosis: End of semester syndrome R/T nursing school stress secondary to final exam

Planning: Student will do well on final

by evidenced of:

getting an 86 to maintained current GPA

Will not have a heart attack before the exam

heart rate will be less than 100 during the final

Will sleep for at least 8 hours before the exam

Will report pain of 0

Interventions:

Review 2 hours a day by the beach

drink 2 cups of coffee before 7

Monitor vital signs

buy a punching bag to relieve stress

Evaluation: To be determine after the final

I am feeling end of semestitis rightnow.......cannot wait to get 4 months vacation.

I get 4 mo's off too!, yippie now I can work!

I agree with both of you. My end of the semester is usually consisted of partying. I work so hard during the semester and usually retain things. The only bad part is everyone had fun the whole year and they do not want to have fun.

2 more days to go:roll! We're all getting WASTED after our last final :beer: . But we only get a week and a half off and then it's back to school for 20 hours of clinicals and 12 hours didactic for 12 weeks . I'm soooooooo jealous of you guys with the 4 months vacation!

Evaluation:

Student did not have a heart attack during exam

No pain noted

90 heart rate

Student stated "the exam was easy"

Student was at eased during exam

It will be 4 weeks before student knows her score :-(

I have definitely been diagnosed with End of Semester SYNDROME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE the rough care plan you have created!!!!!!!!!!!!!
