Greetings, I am moving to Australia but would like to get my Doctorate in Nursing Practice (online) in the US. How critical do Australians look at US schools????? For example can I attend any school as opposed to using the QS world ranking list. All information would be helpful. Thanks :) P.s. What do they think about online universities such as Capella???

Be very careful in nursing as you have seen. There are more snakes than you can count. I am truly sorry to hear of your story. Most nurses know that with narcotics one must be extra careful, a lot can happen if proper documentation or a discrepancy occurs. I think you can go ahead with you education in the meantime and wait on the hearing. Yeah you definitely need a good lawyer and remember just do your own meds ;-)

Avoid medical express they are extremely disorganized and not truthful in what it is that they are offering. I just traveled with them and the contract took over 3 months to just get it signed. The journey was extremely chaotic, although not totally there fault I am home without employment. They were not researching other positions for me despite knowing that my contract was ending. I was thinking of renewing my contract but there were many issues with the facility and therefore we were not allowed to work there for very good reasons. Definitely see how you are treated. Whether when you call they are kind and responsive? Do you research on the facility yourself? And definitely go with your gut. I was at a horrible facility and knew it even before I left but was willing to make the sacrifice. All the best ;-)

Thanks for the thread. I will definitely be checking the site to see what's available. I am currently taking both A and P's online. It's a lot of WORK but so far so good. I am currently studying the venous system ;-) I can't wait for the semester to be over. I have 5 more classes to take before I start a BSN program in the fall. ;-)

What is the going rate for LPNS in the Albany area ??????????????????? I hope to move over there if all goes well. I am applying to different parts of the country and if I stay in NY I will be apply to work full time. The other programs I am applying to are accelerated BSN programs. Good LUCK!

I live in Orange County NY. The programs that I am looking at are in the Albany area. Look at the list that I sent you and you will find schools on the list. HVCC has a great program. In fact I was hoping to apply to their nursing program but they are currently accepting applications for Fall 2009. Many Thanks and all the best with your school search. Here is a link that might be helpful http://www.cpnpnys.org/lpntorn_programs.html You can also search programs by going to www.discovernursing.com And you can put in a google search for NY Associate Degree Nursing/Community colleges and go from there The process is lengthy but in the end I hope you find the school that you are looking for. I am currently doing a search myself and won't stop till I find a school that matches up with what I am looking for. All the BEST ;-)

I would go to salary.com and find some general parameters for the pay in that general area.

You could get a book titled Fundamentals Success and also when you get to Med Surg you can a Med Surg Success book. Use all the tools that you can, I don't ever think that you can't fully get used to the NCLEX questions per se but you can make them easier to deal with. Wishing you all the BEST! A.

THE ISU program is only good if you want to practice in Indiana. It seems to be a decent program. I went through all the information and even had a representative send me an e-mail explaining certain things to me. The issue is that it has not been approved by other states meaning that if you take the program and live in another state you might not be considered having a BSN even though you do. I have also looked to other LPN to BSN programs online and that is the common trend. The good news is that if you want to take a program and you live in that particular state then it's ok.
