Has anyone ever heard of Nurseregistry.com?

Have anyone heard of the company/recruiting agency name "Nurseregistry.com or Appleone?" Also, does it seem right for a recruiting agency to make you pay for your own background check? I check their website out and there were many spelling errors and they asked for my social security. Not so sure if it's legit and want to get other feedbacks.

Specializes in LTC.

I've never been asked by ANY employer, agency or other, to pay for my own background check.

I worked for appleone like over 15 years ago as a temp in manufacturing; they were as good or as bad as any temp agency. But if they're making you pay for your own background check, I'd stay away from them. I've signed on with a couple of different agencies online and don't remember whether or not they asked for my social on the site; in this case, I would recommend not doing it based on the info you provided. You should try calling and talking to somebody in person to get more of a feel for it.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

I would never submit my social security number online, since that's a perfect recipe for identity theft. If the wrong person in cyberspace obtains your SSN, your identity can be stolen from right under you.

Thank, I was really hesitant to give them any sort of info. Just seems weird for a company to ask you for your SSN and to pay for your own background check, on top of that the site has all these mistakes. Thanks for the heads up once again ya.

No legitimate agency will request your social security number online unless they make disclaimers informing you of the site security. The mistakes are another giveaway. I have heard of appleone. But I highly suspect that you came across a poorly executed fraudulent copy of the appleone website. One of the red flags for fraudulent web sites is the poor use of English in the web page. Most likely a scam to get your personal info. Another reason to apply for jobs in person as much as possible. As for paying for the background check, only a few companies make the employee pay for this. I would personally avoid these companies.

Hello,

My name is Alex and I work for nurseregistry.com. We are a young company located in the San Fransisco bay area of California and excel at placing all types of nurses into premier jobs.

I just wanted to take a moment to respond to your concerns.

As far as background checks go, there is a small one time fee, but nurseregistry.com provides the service at cost. Ultimately, it is the nature of the nursing business that background checks are required by every employer prior to allowing a nurse into their facilities or around their patients.

Additionally, we very much understand the hesitation of entering your SSN online. However, I'd like to assure you that our website is SSL certified, which keeps your information completely safe. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers. It creates a link that ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private. Its the same system used by companies like Amazon.com to make sure your credit information stays safe.

Lastly, our website appears error free, but should you find any problems, please feel free to contact us immediately and we will fix them without delay!

We at NurseRegistry.com pride ourselves on our availability, accountability, and our ability to place nurses in the best jobs. If you have any concerns, we are available and are here to help! We prefer to meet with as many of our nurses as possible prior to placing them, so we would be happy to schedule a face-to-face meeting at your convenience. Furthermore, we can also be reached via email.

Thank you for your time and best of luck finding the perfect job!

Yes...but there are other registries too...many more....

I am currently working for nurseregistry..I can assure you that of all the agencies I've worked for..this so far the best and most humane agency i've ever been...and after a few months of working for them...they do pay well compared to others...You can talk to their case manager anytime you have problems... They listen...

As an employee, I believe you need to show them you're capable and trust-worthy and for sure you will not have any problem with work.

When they asked for my SS# , I was also hesitant ..but I am a living proof that they're legit....and also background check for a small amount of cash doesn't hurt if you're already working....It's also for their protection and the client's...

They're actual office is in palo alto.....They're real....
