Has anyone done the Post masters NP tract?

I was interested in doing my MS - nursing education 1st then doing a post master cert in NP. Just wondering if any of the NP had done a similar tract or done just the NP tract straight. I wanted to get the teaching masters 1st before I see if I want to do advanced practice nursing. etc

Good question.....I was wondering the same thing myself. I asked this of one of the NP's I worked with and she made a good point, why get the education masters when you can teach with an NP? I still plan on doing it that way (education then NP certificate) but it was a good point.

i did both my nursing education and my np at the same time. it was only 12 extra hours to do the nursing ed on top of the np.
