I've been to Liberty's website and it looks like a good college and a great nursing program. Do any of you know anything about it? Have any of you graduated from there or are students there now? This is Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Love any info you have.

I'm not from Lynchburg or in Lynchburg, but live fairly close to there (less than 100 miles). I've been there a handful of times.
Liberty University is run by the famous Jerry Falwell. Conservative Christian school, if that makes a difference to you.
Lynchburg College also has a BSN program, and I know a graduate of there, and one of the CNA's I work w/ is a nursing student at Lynchburg College and on her breaks comes into town to work.
And, if you have kids, Lynchburg has a kick butt kids museum.
There are also great schools in Roanoke or Charlottesville, if you are interested in BSN program. (both not too far from L-burg)

Don't know about their program but given their track record, you can bet the scientific theory takes a distant second to G-ds.

Actually, grannynurse, the scientific theory is accurately used at Liberty as it is at any other school. God doesn't have a theory, He had a plan. :heartbeat
I love LU's RN to BSN program, I will graduate in December. I live in Lynchburg.

I am a junior in the nursing program at Liberty and I can safely say that Liberty's nursing program is second to none. Unlike other programs that only offer 2 years of actual clinical experience, Liberty's clinical hours begin in the sophomore year. We have simulation with $50,000-100,000 mannequins that are programmable to have real life medical crises including delivering a baby. Since being in this program, I have had the opportunity to work in the emergency department, diabetic-renal, pre-surgery, pulmonary, medical-surgical, intensive care nursery, labor and delivery, orthopedics, etc and have even had the opportunity to be hands-on in trauma situations doing CPR. The fact that we are a Christian university gives the graduates of this program a unique perspective on health care centered around compassion and competency. The rigors of this program insure that only the best nurses can call themselves Liberty nursing grads.

Really? And how much direct experience have you had with other nursing programs, to make that assessment?? Your description of the glories of LU sound like a pretty typical nursing program -- there are many schools of nursing that offer the amenities you describe, and there are plenty of other schools at colleges or universities with religious affiliations.
I'm not intending to be critical of the LU program (I don't have enough direct information to do that); just saying that I suspect "second to none" is a bit of a stretch, with as many good nursing programs as there are in the US (many (most?) of which have the fancy-schmancy, expensive mannequins, and begin their wide range of clinicals early in the program -- that's certainly true of all the nursing programs in my area). I'm glad you feel you're having a good experience there.
Welcome to allnurses, and best wishes for your journey!

According to the VA BON, LU's NCLEX pass rates have some room for improvement ...
