Anybody here studying in Harry truman college? and taking up Nursing course?

:yeah:

Hi, im graduating from Truman this week, just passed the HESI and I'd have to say that it was a very tough program but I think Truman has the highest % of students passing NCLEX like 99.5%? And yes Mrs. Zimmerman is still there and our class only had her the last semester and I would have to say she is definitely my favorite teacher.

HI! I am in my first semester at Truman! Would like to know if you have the syllabus for every semester? I want to to have a head-start during Christmas break (I know is early but I want to prepare myself for this program) Thanks!!

Soonto, unfortunately I do not have the syllabus for each semester , and I also think it would not help you, it is just not possible to cover all that material over christmas break; also, not all students get the same teachers for lectures, so for you to have the same exact teachers as me for the same exact topics would probably be a miracle! I suggest you find out what your next subject is after Christmas break, for example, if its maternity, then its simple, because you just have to start reading from chapter 1! lol, I can honestly say i've read almost the entirety of all my nursing books..and oh yes..the majority of the giant Lewis med-surg book. If you really want to get a head start I suggest preparing for that First Year Hesi and practice NCLEX question...alot of nclex questions, and even do the questions in the HESI CD, although they still may be advanced for the first year, you may stumble upon some questions on that CD that will be in the HESI. Good luck!

And in response to claudette, about the job offers, I am currently working in the Telemetry unit, and so far I love it! Everyone is so nice, and I am learning alot, although I must say it can get extremely busy!

Lol, i didn't realize Claudette asked that question in April, oh well maybe she'll read my post above anyway.

I'm attending Truman college next semester(Spring) for Nursing but I have to complete my prereq's first( I only have to take BIO, CHEM, MATH). But the application deadline for the 2012 Nursing program is February 2012.

I talked to an adviser and she told me that I could still apply to the 2012 fall program but the application says ALL PREREQ'S MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE SIGNING UP.

Could someone give me advice about what steps to take and if I am able to try to get into the 2012 fall program.

I feel like the advisers at Truman don't know what their talking about.
