Hard time getting a contract as a couple

My wife and i both have three years everience in the ed. we are looking for travel assignments where we can work the same days. however we have seem to hit a block wall after making that request. Anyone have better luck?

There are fewer PTs than nurses, so there are fewer assignments. That said, PT is an in demand specialty and often pays better than most nursing specialties. So if anyone is going to piggyback, it will be you! So your recruiter is correct for at least two reasons. I would focus on assignments for him first - it may have to be with a different agency. Even an agency that does allied and nursing like the really large ones will have some difficulty coordinating an allied and a nursing travel position I would think - different departments and recruiters.

All the couples and friends I know who traveled together worked for the same company as their travel buddy. The facilities I've worked in don't hire PTS they work with a local company and contract that service out so I'm not sure that would help in your situation.
