I was wondering, is it more difficult to find a job as an NP if you go to a less reputable school? Basically, if I'm accepted to an NP school, but it's not a well known one, should I accept and get started early or should I hold out and wait for a better school? Do hospitals and employers really care as long as you are licensed to practice?

I think what is important is what type of education that you get and how varied your clinical experiences will be. At least that is what I have found. The school you are considering is fully accredited, right? And, you would be able to sit for boards? That is what's important.

Similar to what traumaRUS said, what I found in this geographical area where I live in is that employers are interested to know whether you are a certified NP, what nursing background you offer, what clinical rotations you had in NP school, and whether your personality would be a good fit for the practice that is considering the hiring. Sometimes name recognition of a particular NP school helps (i.e., physician interviewing you went to the med school of the same university) but this is not the only criteria that is considered.
