Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am a RN and maintained a current licence even though I have not worked in 8 years. I maintained it by keeping my licence current and maintaining CEUS . I was overseas with hubby and now returned. I contacted my Board and I am not required to take a refresher course. I am looking for a night shift part time in telemetry. I have applied to several local hospitals with no such luck. They either don't call or email me and string me along for a week or two then tell me that there nurse managers don't want to hire me(without meeting me). I have a strong clinical background in telemetry and have been refreshing myself by reading online and books. I purchases a current med reference and am studing it as well. I have always been considered by my peers as a very good nurse. I am reliable and 35 years old. The doctor srespected me on the unit as well. . Any recommendations!!!!

Thanks,

Well and if not a refresher course, at LEAST go through a new grad orientation. I had been out of the hospital 5 years, but doing telephonic case managament and home health. I hadn't been away from nursing altogether. Some hospital systems offer their own in house refresher courses.
