HIPAA Violation?
So if this is the case, then anytime a nurse open their units database and see the bedded patients in their rooms they are also violating Hipaa. These are not my patients and I am not directly involved in their care but I can see their name, doctor and visit reason which is often the diagnosis. I have to open this area to access my direct care patients.

HIPAA Violation?
Is doing a search to see if someone has even been to your hospital a HIPAA violation? No medical records are opened .

Hard to find a job
I applied at Willowbrook Methodist. They gave me the run around , suggested I go into medsurg and then told me "Being out for 8 years in the age of computer technology is tough." for a reason of not hiring me. I have current telemetry certification, my heart knowledge is strong, and in my day was an excellent nurse and charge RN on a stepdown telemetry floor. Can't figure out the problem. I really want to work at that hospital (it's 5 minutes from my house)

I don't have recent experience. I have not working in the hospital for 8 years.

Hard to find a job
I did that, I volunteer at the dome during the Hurricane Rita Catastrophy. I meet some ER nurses but we were busy to network. They suggested I apply in medsurg or take a refresher anyway.

Hard to find a job
I am a RN and maintained a current licence even though I have not worked in 8 years. I maintained it by keeping my licence current and maintaining CEUS . I was overseas with hubby and now returned. I contacted my Board and I am not required to take a refresher course. I am looking for a night shift part time in telemetry. I have applied to several local hospitals with no such luck. They either don't call or email me and string me along for a week or two then tell me that there nurse managers don't want to hire me(without meeting me). I have a strong clinical background in telemetry and have been refreshing myself by reading online and books. I purchases a current med reference and am studing it as well. I have always been considered by my peers as a very good nurse. I am reliable and 35 years old. The doctor srespected me on the unit as well. . Any recommendations!!!! Thanks, HLBC
