HALLMARK COLLEGE- Lackland AFB

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi Everyone!

My husband is being relocated to Lackland AFB in Sep and I would like to get a jump start on getting info on LVN-RN bridge programs out in San Antonio. I was wondering if Hallmark college is a for-school and if they have a bridge program. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I did look on their website since the BON stated it was a bridge program, but I don't see anything on the website stating that. Thank you very much!

Hi there! I'll try to answer you questions as best as possible. I've been a Hallmark student since September 2012. I graduate this December.

1. I like the classes. Some are more difficult than others but the instructors really strive to get the information across to the students.

2. The professors are very knowledgeable and best yet when you have clinical you'll have the same instructor at the clinical site as you do in lecture. So there's no confusion on material you should/shouldn't already know.

3. Unsure of the NCLEX pass rate since there has only been once class that has graduated and taken their NCLEX so far. A friend of mine was in that first class, she past it on her first try.

4. Job guaranteed? No. No school can guarantee you a job, only the education that'll lead you to that job. A lot of schools will have job placement (ie: job boards, etc).

5. Transfer? Yes, Our Lady of the Lake San Antonio accepts Hallmark's credits, as will . A lot of schools will accept the credits if the school is accredited nationally or regionally, which Hallmark is.

Hope this information helps! If you have more questions, please feel free to ask. :)

The panel interview questions are actually different for everyone. They'll take a look at your previous experience with work, school, etc. and tailor the questions based upon those. It isn't anything to be afraid of-- they just want to make sure you're able to stick it out the program. It isn't easy by any means but it is doable.

I think it has been very well worth it to go to Hallmark College. I'm very happy with the education I have obtained so far. The instructors, directors and the entire staff are very helpful. It isn't a large school so your instructors and even the director will usually know you by name.

I'm very glad I made the decision to attend Hallmark. :-)

Also, they don't have a bridge program-- yet. I'm pretty sure there is a plan to do it. They will, however, give credits if you take their LPN STEP test if you're already a practicing LVN/LPN. If you make a certain score you'll get a certain amount of credits.

I hope I'm not too late to respond to everyone's posts on hallmark. I've recently graduated and have to say it was the worst college I've ever attended!!!! DONT DO IT!!!!! The instructors, as well as the director named Seville, are not helpful and gossip to other cohorts about different cohorts. They are extremely expensive and unprofessional. If you're ok with a $7500 lab fee that is worthless for the labs they offer then by all means go here. Out of the 30 people in my cohort, maybe 8 passed nclex the first time around. Most of them were lvns prior. They have repeatedly messed up degrees and honors for students and then laugh in your face as if no big deal, even though its been 8months since you graduated. I'm enrolled with UTA and have to repeat 7 classes I took at hallmark. Its not regionally accredited so good luck finding a school that will accept credits. Our lady of the lake and national american university are a couple to choose from, if you can afford another $20-30,000 to pay for an additional year of school. I'm thankful I got a degree in nursing but regret spending so much time and money attending such a ruthless, unprofessional, worthless school. If you get a chance to speak to any of the students when you visit make sure to ask them about their experience, without a faculty member eves dropping, and then ask what other schools they've attended to be sure this isn't just their first college experience. Sorry to go on a rant but I want everyone to know the real truth about this place before spending more than $30,000 to go here for an ADN.

Hey there! I'm so glad you posted this because I've been in a big rut about which college to tour and attend. I emailed someone from Hallmark and they stated they're accredited. When I looked on BON I noticed that they have restrictions, and when I told them what I saw they denied me. I was a little disappointed because I'm very serious about my future career.

I've been hoping to get more information on Kaplan's LVN program, and Career Points RN program. It seems that I can barely find anything on them. I have been to Kaplan's website and the LVN classes seem amazing; however I'm worried that if I wanted to bridge over the credits wouldn't be accepted. If you've heard anything on these schools and have info please let me know! Thank you, it would help me out!
