My nursing program requires that your hair be off your neck, and i was wondering, if anyone- is going to/did chop off or grow out their hair for school?
I have med-lenghth hair now, and i'm really considering growing it out so that i can sweep it up in a pony-tail? How-ever i keep wondering it would just be easier to keep it short
What do you all think?
Timely topic here... My hair is one length except bangs, below the braline midback. It goes up in a ponytail or claw for clinical, and almost everything else too. Without seeing this thread, I decided yesterday that I want to cut it all off.... short! I talked to my mom, my hairdresser, and my hubby. Everyone likes the idea except my hubby, lol. He said, of course, to do whatever I like - but I do know that he "prefers" my hair long. He did remind me (I had forgotten) that I've had my hair short twice before and hated it. Hmmmmm. I'd thought that I'd had my hair in this "exact same style" since I was 12 (I'm nearing the end of 35 now) so it must be time for a change. Now, I'm torn.
What do you think of this style? I think it's adorable...
Very cute! I was trying to grow mine out, but as soon as the new season of Charmed started and I saw Alyssa Milano's new ultra-short 'do, I ran to my hairdresser and had it all chopped off. I LOVE my hair cut and it looks really sexy and flirty, not boyish at all. And best of all, if I'm really running late, I slick some gel through it and am out the door, literally in less than 2 min.!
I am 46 and even though I'm on the heavy side, I wear my hair short, and the top is fluffed up, so I think it looks good on me, I don't really care what others think about it. It is convenient, doesn't take long to shampoo, dry and use a curling iron on the top.
There was a guy in my class last year who had very long hair, it looked great, always neat, in a ponytail for clinicals. One day he came into class with it cut super-short, I didn't recognize him at first. He looked good with his hair either way, but he said it was a pain in the butt to deal with when it was long.

Chopped it all off. 13 plus inches. My hair was too thick and heavy for me to put up in a bun or ponytail that wouldn't hang below my collar of my uniform. Plus it would give me a headache.
I am overweight and had worried that a short hair cut would make my big face look even fatter, but it did. I have gotten a ton of compliments. Plus, it is so easy to care for. I can just wash it and go. However, I usually blow dry it and that takes less than 3 minutes. I don't think I'll be going back to long hair for a while.
The only drawback is that it has to be recut every 3 weeks. My hair just grows so fast.
