Had my physical exam today ...

Published

I went to Walter Reed with my recruiter today for my physical exam, and it went very well! :) Everyone was very nice. I failed the weigh-in (as expected), but passed the tape test. Bonus: they measured my height at 60"! :D I stood very, very straight, and the LPN said I was right at 60". Whew! Gave me an extra 6 lbs to play with. Ha!

In any case, I turned in a whole huge bunch of paperwork to my recruiter, and I think I'm truly in "wait" mode now! She can submit some of my paperwork in July to determine my rank, then it's just the (nail-biting) wait until my packet goes to the Army Nursing Board in October. Woo!

:) :) :)

I would have DIED if they'd said I was pregnant (not that I had any reason to suspect I might be).

I actually did my own test two days before to make sure I WASN'T. I mean, that's all I would have needed at that point....

I saw one girl crying because she found out she was preggers ***surprise***

LOL ... I'll admit, this cracked me up. That would be horrible!!

Okay, I broke down and got the P90X workout DVDs. My recruiter was telling me how great they are (she was in pain last week after doing just half of the plyometrics DVD from that set), so we'll see if they get me down to that magic number to avoid the tape measure! :D

Lunah - THEY WORK. BELIEVE ME - I've been doing P90X for two weeks and have lost four pounds already and my tummy's flattening out. I have pants I couldn't wear that are now a bit baggy in the waist.

I have a friend who's a tech sergeant who did it for six weeks and LOST SEVEN INCHES.

You will HURT like you won't believe - but THEY WORK and they're actually a lot of fun. They're based on muscle confusion.

(The yoga one is 90 minutes and you'll sweat your guts out. Most of the rest of them are an hour and include warm up and cool down.)

Awesome!!! :) :) :) P.S. I saw your tagline the other day and just about fell over laughing! One of my docs wrote me a letter of recommendation for the "Army Nurse Core." :D In his defense, he worked late the night before!

:)

I am nothing if not amusing....

I love beachbody too. It works! Shapely is actually my beachbody username. I just started a new round of INSANITY to help increase my endurance. I'm a coach if your interested in help with products or wanna win some money.

You're more hard core than I am. :)

They're getting the Insanity DVDs at Lackland. It's actually a pretty cool setup - they have scheduled sessions but if you're nice to the gym guys they'll let you use the DVDs whenever your schedule permits, as long as the aerobics room isn't in use. I think that once I go through the program once I might hunt down the DVDs on craigslist to have at home when I either miss a session or can't be bothered to go out to the gym.

I'm on Day 23 of P90X and love it! I lost 7 pounds the first week! My weight has stayed the same the last couple weeks, but I think I am definitely losing inches! I want to get in better shape before COT, and I have at least a year to do that.

I just did the Core Synergistics workout ... WOO! Who knew there were so many ways to do push-ups? LOL

Wait until you get to the Plyometrics....
