Even though it was a result of a patient developing what potentially may be urosepsis, I was able to help coordinate things and get a guy transferred off of my floor! I noticed a problem with his B/P and had the medical attending give him a once over. She looked at his urostomy bag and noticed it was a bit cloudy and ordered a U/A. Results came back with positive results. Vitals were re-done and everything became a blur. CCU residents were called, vitals were re-taken again (he was pretty hypotensive) and before I knew it, it was time to take the patient up to the unit and give bedside report to a med-surg nurse! She even took my "brains" and I think it went well. While it was coordinated chaos to get the guy off of my floor, I feel accomplished. I used my nursing judgement and was able to ask for the help of my colleagues when needed!
