Hi everyone, i would really appreciate if someone could help. i'm on H4 visa (spouse visa) and i'm planning to take LPN course in the Philippines. i was told that it will just take a year and much cheaper. my questions are: (a) can i sit for an nclex and where? (b) i was going to come back to US to join my husband after the course, can a hospital or a medical company sponsor me from H4 to H1? cause i've read a lot of LPN grads complained of not getting visa. and i was wondering if i already have one, will that help in my case or maybe to lot of people with a similar situation... thanks in anticipation.

Sorry, but you need to be educated at the baccalaureate level (BSN) in order to receive any type of sponsorship from healthcare facilities in America. Your LPN education in the Philippines is not eligible for a visa.
I'm moving this thread to the International forums for more feedback.

The LPN programs in the Philippines will not get you a visa to work in the US, there is no visa that is available with that classification. No matter what you read about on the internet, including the H2-B visa being available to you with the LPN. That is not the case at all and will leave you subject to being deported for immigration fraud. We hear of companies that will try to entice you to work for them but this visa is only for temporary work for unskilled laborers, and as a nurse, that does not work for you.
An H4 visa will not permit you to work, and if doing training in the Philippines, then you will have to get the four year BSN to meet the requirements for licensure for the US. We require that your training by the first level general nurse in the country of training, and that is the only program that they have there. They do not accept the LPN training for licensure there as well.
Even if you go to school there and go thru a four year program, we are still under a retrogression at this time.
There is much on this written on the Philippine Forum, suggest that you check it out there.
