I think Saunders has a great series. I agree with all the previous posts and just do questions and read the rationales. You have a lot of knowledge being a CNA and EMT so I'm sure you will be fine. The test does not have nursing theory questions as that time of stuff is not covered in an Associated program. You kind of look at books at the store and check out what you feel like using. I personally loved the saunders book and i also purchased the saunders q & a cards so I could carry a stack with me when I was working. A couple of friends I know used NCLEX incredibly easy Q & A. A lady I babysit for is from England. She did nursing there and moved here and had to take the nclex. She did Kaplan because she had no idea what content to study and testing was totally different here. Good luck and it's wonderful you have so much support!
Hey I passed NCLEX after failing twice. Last time I took it was in June 2005, so it had been 4 year or more. I had forgotten everything. I took a refresher from Kaplan and prepared myself too. Preparation and practice helped me pass it. I did more than 3000 questions. So I would say take a refresher course of your choice and do a lot of practice. Good luck.

I am a BSN graduate from a foreign school. It had been 2 years since I graduated. Finally, after waiting so long for my eligibility to take the test, I can now take the NCLEX-RN. But my problem is that it had been 2 years since i graduated and I already forgot a lot of things. Yes I worked as a CNA and respond to 911 calls as an EMT while waiting for my eligibility. But CNA and EMT education did not help much in retaining a lot of theories in nursing. I am not confident in taking the NCLEX yet... but my family, relatives, and friends are pushing me to take the exam right away. They are confident that i will pass it. Even the Director of Nursing of the facility where i work also have high expectation on me. I am in so much pressure that I can't do anything productive. I can't concentrate on studying. I don't know what to do... need your suggestions and advices on how will i deal with this... and on what is the better "attack plan" to prepare myself for NCLEX taking consideration that it had been almost 3 years since i graduated.
Thanks in advance
