Hello All,
I am trying to get feedback on Gwynedd-Mercy's weekend nursing program. Its a Sat/Sun program for those with a Bachelor's in another field. Any feedback would be appreciated? How was it, were clinicals good, did you feel prepared once you graduated, etc.
Thanks

I'm graduating from Gwynedd Mercy RN day program in May. I know that their weekend program runs almost parralel to what we covered. Most of the teachers are the same, the clinical hopsitals are the same and so are the instructors. I am very happy with Gwynedd. Its a hard program that requires time, however, they are there to help you. Many of my instructors mentioned that they also teach/instuct clinicals on the weekends, and I love the instructors. This isn't a program where if you don't study you'll do fine. You have to really read the chapters, class notes, and study to do good. If you have any questions let me know.
Thanks for your feedback. Do you feel the clinicals were helpful in preparing you to learn the gist of entry level nursing
I believe so. All my instructors were great. Many clinicals allow students to go to ER, ICU, surgery and other areas, so that we can get a feel for other hospital senerios other than med/serg and telementry. I haven't taken maternity yet, I'm starting that on Thursday, so I can't say much about behavioral or maternity. The med/serg and complex adult health were very intreasting. I also think it depends on who your clinical instructor is, however, I've had 5 different instructors and I can't complain about any of them as instructors. They are very knowledgable and try to assign patients that had conditions that we were covering at the time. Good Luck!
I was accepted ino GMC weekend nursing program for the Fall 2009 semester. I'm excited and nervous. I know I'll have to enjoy my summer to get ready to buckle down for fall. My only concern is financial aid. I have a Master's degree and have used stafford loan to pay for most of my schooling. How's the financial aid, do they offer grants or scholarships?
