Hello,
I have been accepted into the ABSN program at GMU. I will be starting in August. I wanted to know who else will be starting in August with me. But if your doing the ABSN program in May. Keep this group updated on how the classes are going, and anything we need to know to be well prepared. As for the January class, we will keep you posted as well. As of right now, I submitted my deposit, and haven't received any other information. What about you guys? Hope to hear from someone soon. :)

Congrats!! I'm anxiously awaiting for my admissions decision. How long did you wait before you got your acceptance and was it an email or through the post office?
I applied around the month of December and I received a phone call saying I've been accepted around February. A month later I received the acceptance package in the mail. Good Luck, I hope you get accepted.
I should have been patient for a couple more days before I posted because I was accepted on the 29th! Best news ever. I'm so ready to meet the cohort and start learning!
Congrats!!! Yes can't wait to start classes and clinicals.

Thank you so much and congrats to you too! I haven't received anything in the mail about the orientation yet and I do not want to miss it! Was the letter just about the orientation?
No. It include some other forms we have to process before aug 31. It contains physical and vaccine documentation, finger printing, background check etc. Are u entering for fall or spring?

what is the difference between the absn and the bsn program? I was accepted into their BSN program this fall. However, I'm not taking any nursing classes until spring 16.
ABSN program is for student who already got a bachelors degree in another field and wish to get a second degree in Nursing while BSN is a traditional Nursing program for those without a degree. It usually takes 4 yrs.
Thanks. I was told with my transfer credits it will take me 3 years. I'm hoping it only takes 3 and not longer

Good luck guys! I just graduated from GMC in August with my BSN ( transfer student). Best advice is to study from the get go for all nursing and science classes. Don't wait until the last minute. During clinical ask for recommendation letters ( have at least 2 from different instructors) by the time you graduate. Some nursing textbooks are in the library 😉.
Take advantage of the "free" nursing tutors even if you think you know everything. Get a "small" study group ( if that's your thing bc it helped a lot). Find out what your distractors are... Mine was my family so I focused so much better when I lived on campus. Get a Perdiem CNA or tech job during school ( at least in the summer) bc employers look at that during interviews.
