I was accepted for the fall semester & have yet to send in my deposit. I would love to hear from some current or past students regarding their experience there. I received a letter explaining which classes I've already taken can be applied there, yet I've read some postings where they don't accept credits & you have to repeat everything there. Is this true? I already have an Associates degree & all but 1 general class finished. I don't want to have to start from scratch. If that's the case I'll keep trying to get accepted elsewhere. Thanks!

I was accepted for fall 2013 as well and I just got the same letter. It says I still need 2 courses and I'm hoping I can mix them in with the nursing courses. I don't get it really how I was accepted yet i still need pre reqs. Weird

Catwoman,
Thats not true regarding your courses not transferring. I guess it depends where you are transferring from. I am transferring in from CCP and all of my classes transfer with me. So I half 3 quarters of my ASN done already other than my nursing courses. Because of this I can get my BSN in 3 years instead of four. I put my deposit in and got my financial aid package, which I just sent in to accept. I am still waiting to get my transcript evaluation to let me know what I can take over the summer at CCP that will also transfer as well as a break down of what courses I have left and what my schedule will look like. One thing you should know if you do not know this already is that GMC requires that you go full-time. So for example since I have 34 credits already, I have to take courses towards my BSN while getting my ASN so that I maintain full-time status or minor in something. I look forward to meeting you all at the orientation.
Healthnut, I assume your in the BSN program correct? How are the professors? Also I am taking advanced physiology in the fall and was curious if you took it already and if so how it was?

I'm in the weekend program which is strictly ASN. So I do not have to take advance phys. I'm planning to do an entry-level masters program when I'm done at GMC since I already have my bachelors degree (in another field).
Oh thats right. I forgot that its a program for those who already have their bachelors in another field. So how does that work if you only have an ASN in nursing but have a bachelors in another field? Don't you have to take the credits required for a BSN or are you getting your masters in your original degree and just getting your RN license?

Hi. I am also starting this fall and they accepted most it not all of my credits. However, they Wont accept any science courses taken online and certain classes like nutrition had to be taught be a cretified nutritionist. The way the program is design, the nursing classes are only 2 classes, you will need to enroll in two more classes since you have to be a full time student.
yea I registered like 2 months ago. I'm taking advanced physiology, morality and contemporary healthcare, and nursing 110 and 111. Have you taking care of getting everything you need yet..books, health forms, uniforms, etc?
Hello everyone. I have decided to go to Gwynedd this fall. I am both excited & nervous. Right now working on getting the clinical requirements taken care of. I haven't gotten books or uniforms yet. I am hoping to attend the special event on Wednesday at the uniform store & get that taken care of. I looked over the textbook requirements & the cost is so crazy but I guess to be expected. In addition to the Nursing 110 & 111, I am also taking SOC2000 & ECN. I'm lucky enough to have so many credits transfer that I can start taking courses towards my BSN. Makes me feel ahead of the game. I look forward to meeting my fellow classmates. I'll be the old one in the classroom.

Helllo my name is Kim and you will not be the only old one in the class I am so hype. I too have all my pre reqs done but, they wont take my Statistics class so I have to take it over :-(
I hope to god they take my statistics. Its on the transfer agreement with ccp as a class that transfers over but ya never know. I just finished it this week and I have an A which is a good boost on my GPA. I'm already getting the Crimson Scholarship so Im hoping with these summer classes I'll boost my gpa up the little bit needed to get the Gold Scholarship. I'm dying waiting for the summer readings to be posted. I got everything else done. FYI for those ordering uniforms. The pants run really big and so do the jackets. I wear scrubs for work so I just bought the same size I normally wear which is a medium, and now I have to send back the jacket and pants It didn't dawn on me that the pants and the jacket are adult mediums not women's mediums..so take that into consideration when ordering. :)
Also Kim you would be surprised how many people are coming back to school for career changes, second degrees, etc. My one semester of nursing at CCP, there wasn't anyone under 25 in the 150 people that were accepted.
my statistics is from Delaware County Community college and they said it has to be a nursing Statistics and mine is a Business Statistics. Im going to Gwynedd Mercy tomorrow to pick my classes. See that you mention something about summer reading where can I find that information? Also thank you for the heads up about the scrubs. One other question do you know how many days a week we meet? Im getting nervous the close we get to the start date.
