Gwynedd Mercy ABSN prerequisites

Hi I am currently enrolled to take Microbiology Online at Gwynedd Mercy in hopes it'll grant me admission into the ABSN program. I'm going through an array of emotions 1. nervous 2. annoyed and 3. excited. I just received an email from my professor saying we need the textbook which I already have a free pdf version of that textbook. Then she stated weeks later that we now need the LABPAQ kit and microscope with an oil immersion lens so I was wondering could I possibly purchase the same labpaq kit but just an older version LP-0230-mb-02 instead of LP-0230-mb-03 and still do well in the course. Also in regards to the microscope... Is that really needed for the course or could I do without. I'm only asking because I am quite annoyed with professors assigning materials for courses that we "may" use.
