I couldn't find a thread for anyone who applied to GWU for the Fall 2015 cohort! Just wanted to share the torture of time with anyone else waiting... :)
Yea, I'm not sure either, it does seem like a long orientation. My BSN had a 3 day orientation, but I'm doing CWO where I was included in the general masters orientation and it was only a morning (and I was peeved I had to commit that much time!) I'll be on maternity leave (yea, I know I'm crazy) so while I'll be sad to leave my baby, I won't have to worry about time off from work. It'll actually be right before I head back to work, so good practice maybe. I guess I wouldn't mind a 5 day stay in Washington DC (I love DC), but I live in Baltimore County so it won't exactly be a trip, just a drive in rush hour traffic for five days :/
I'm still super excited though, and while I hate orientations of every kind (not their fault, you can't exactly make the endless discussions about paperwork interesting) it'll be good to get started.
Course Work Only, basically taking some classes without being enrolled in a program. I'm only allowed to do 6 credits (conveniently only 6 credits are generally allowed to be transferred). Doing it mostly to get back into school (I've been out for a while), but if I do well, I'll go ahead and transfer them and get a little break down the road. I was royally peeved when they made me do the full background check and orientation when all I was taking was two lecture classes and no clinicals! The benefit, now I have all of my vaccine documentation ready for when I need it for real
Hi!
I'm from Baltimore Co, Md and I applied to the GW FNP program in the fall. I didn't submit my app until last minute so I haven't gotten anything from the school yet.
For those of you that have gotten a response from the school, I was wondering how you knew the status of your application?
I experienced some difficulty with the CAS application process, in fact, I thought it was horrible! The admissions counselor said they got my information a few weeks ago but if I'm relying on CAS to get my information in Im a little worried:(

Hey! I actually had the worst experience with NursingCas too!!! I submitted everything two weeks before the deadline and then they notified me 3 weeks AFTER the deadline to tell me my applications have been undelivered because I entered the transcripts incorrectly. I was so upset because I felt as though they took way too long to alert me about this!! Anyway- turns out, GWU sent me an email saying my application was received and it was submitted for final review. I'm still waiting to hear the final result, but I'm very relieved just knowing they have it. When did you submit your application?
