Looking to see if there are any students applying to GTC Fall 2022 and if so,what are their stats?

One day will be lab which will be 9-3 I think it was and one day is clinical from 6:45 - 3 ( times will vary). As far as what you need: a stethoscope, watch with a second hand, white leather waterproof shoes, and black scrub pants. The top you have to buy from a specific vendor.
Are you there for lab the entire 9-3 or just until you finish your work? Are you assigned a specific lab day? Did you have an option in your clinical location? Sorry for all the questions!

So first semester you have 2 labs. 1 for fundamentals And 1 for pharmacology. The pharm lab doesn’t start until later in the semester so I’m the beginning you will be getting out maybe around 12ish. It may be different for y’all though because we didn’t have a lab manger but now there is one so she may do things differently. You are assigned a specific lab day and there’s also an open lab day which isn’t mandatory but I recommend going to practice your skills before check offs. As far as clinical, last semester we didn’t get a choice but they placed us at locations near where we live for the most part. This semester we did get to put our top 3 choices and days. Clinicals can be any day of the week including weekends. They are flexible though if you need to trade with anyone. And you’re good! I know I was asking alot of questions too!! I’m here to help in any way possible! I am so excited for all of you!!

hey ck002! seems like you found it at the perfect time as decisions have just started rolling In. Since I got my acceptance letter I have been doing my research on RN-BSN programs and what classes I should be taking to make that a smooth transition. seems like I have to take classes like polsci, history, and a second chem class which im not excited for ?

Hey it’s okay! I would say around 1000 if I remember correctly for textbooks and Maybe around 200 for uniforms. And if you don’t have health insurance, you will have to pay for your vaccinations and physical as well! As far as studying, I recommend studying dosage calculations beforehand so you don’t have to worry about that during the semester. You will have a dosage exam every semester that you have to get a 90 and above on. You do get 2 tries though! But otherwise just relax with your family and enjoy your off time! Once the semester starts it’s go, go, go!

Does the program utilize ATI? I know some schools use that. If you don’t make a 90 or higher on dosage, do you get dismissed?
26 minutes ago, Jlv07 said:No we do Kaplan! At the end of every semester you have to take a Kaplan exit exam for each course. And yes you will get dismissed!
We are attacking you with questions ??
The exit exams, is there a certain grade you must make? If you fail that exam, do you get dismissed as well?

My husband keep saying to do the ABSN to get it over with but I don't think he really understands how much work and how so very expensive it will be for him! LOL
