Gwinnett Tech School packets

Published

Hey everyone. I went to buy a newer stethoscope to start practicing vitals again( I did CNA cert). It was $16. I didn't want to invest in a much more expensive one since I am not sure what is in our school packets. When do we receive them? Do they supply us with scrubs, steth/BP kit, etc? What all is in the packet? I am trying to save fin aid for the program and things like background check, any vaccines I might need and TB exam. Any additional info would be great. Im taking Kaplan at Brenau to see what Kaplan is like to narrow my focus on anatomy, writing and math. Im sure reading is the same around the board. Then I will have another month or so to study for March GTC Kaplan. Any advice is greatly appreciated

It takes 5 semesters to complete but you actually only take classes 4 semesters. You go Fall and Spring then get the summer off then go Fall and Spring of the second year and graduate.[/quote']

Ahhhh, I understand what you mean now. It's so confusing for them to put it that way without at least explaining it the way you did. I had the idea down that it would be on full semesters (not half semesters like summer) but when they mention it being 5 semesters, it made me think it would be fall, spring, fall spring, fall. Eeek. Thank you for clearing it up.

The nursing students I talked with today said they graduate at the end of spring semester.

I'm currently in my 2nd semester of nursing school. The nursing bag you receive will only contain the supplies needed for lab (syringes, etc). You have to buy your own stethoscope, scissors, pen light, etc.

Hi again. So Everyone has taken their Kaplan exams. Now we are just waiting for acceptance letters. I was wondering if you might be able to say when the packets might be mailed out to us? I am assuming after we give our letter of intent. Do you remember the list or could you possibly email the one you have? I am super eager to get things ready. I am pretty optimistic of where I stand so I am moving forward as though I expect to be accepted. Any additional info would be awesome!!!!:D

Once you get accepted there will be a deadline for everyone to send back a letter of intent. Once that deadline passes they email out the packet with everything that is required. It includes all the immunization/titers, CPR certification, background check, and uniforms along with the dates that they have to be complete.

There will be an orientation day in August and you will get a lot more info. I don't think we got our book list until then. Some of the seniors will be there to answer questions, and you will order your tshirts for lab that day also.

Wow thanks for the info! I hope I get in. Now we just wait. Sigh
