Hi Everybody! I was wondering if anyone out there is part of the fall 2010 class - maybe we can get to know each other a little better before class starts in September. I was also wondering if there was anyone out there who is in the 2009 class that can give us some insight into what to expect. Any information on the program will be greatly appreciated. :)
I did pick up a used 6th Edition and a study guide and skills check list. There is also an 18 disk Cd set that is awsome as well. The book is HUGE and weighs a ton. I guess they want us to feel the weight of our choice (bad jk...sorry). I am going to take mine into Office Max and have them debind and hole punch it so that i can break it down into bite size packages rather than having to lug the whole thing around. That was a tip i read on one of the other threads. My husband has already tried it on a couple of his books and LOVES the result.
Has anyone been able to talk to any of the upper class? i am very concerned about the uniforms. We have a very small window in which we can order, receive and potentially need to return them if they dont fit. I know i can feel a big difference in the fit of Cherokee scrubs size medium and Barco/Greys anatomy size medium. I do not want to be any more uncomfortable than i have to be come clinicals. So if anyone can get a bug in the upper classman's ear, i would love to hear how Merdi's sizes run...especially in the bootey section!
Hello everyone, its Barbara again. I was just wondering how soon we are suppose to do the drug screen and background check. I got accepted late because two people dropped, so a friend of mine sent me the package via email. The director told me she would send it and I am still waiting after two emails. What hospitals is included in the drug screen and check. I am not sure I got everything in the package either. Could someone resend that to [email protected]. Also, yes I work in a psych hosp and it has been a wonderful choice for me. It involves a lot of emotional stress due to the clients or patients that you deal with, but in the end its worth it.
Hi there. We just returned from our family vacation and for some reason I feel like our program is racing up on me... even though we still have better than two months.
I feel a little uncomfortable with the little bit of information that we have received, but I guess we have to trust that they want us to succeed so we'll know what we need to know when we need to know it.
I'm anxious to meet all of you and to get started... and am also terrified. With all of my heart I want to succeed.
Have a great week.

hello everyone..my name is Barbara, I am 47 years old. I have been an lpn for 15 years in a psych hospital. I have no medical background. I had a friend in the last class and she got kicked out after some test after the 3rd or 4th quarter. You had to make above 70 percent on it. I am pretty sure the fall class is 18 hours. I talked to the nursing instructor and she said it was 18 hours. The book she showed me is fundamentals of nursing, sixth edition. Isbn number 978-0-7817-8157-2. The work book is 978-0-7817-6407-0. Before buying, check with the school. The books are a good price at half.com. Barbara
