U.S.A. North Carolina

New to allnurses.com but, I just applied for Nursing School at GTCC and I am so anxious to find out what points are getting accepted! Just wondering how many have applied and what their point range was? That Tea's V was a butt Kicker for me! So anxious to get a letter!

haha you are no where near CLOSE to retirement and I have faith and hope you will get in....just hope I can come along also :) YES...the rumors are insane. Everytime I get a question from someone wanting to know info about the nursing program I always start my answer with ....well, it depends on what information you want to know and from which of the 2500 people who have ALL told me DIFFERENT things lol. Also this is the story I tell Everybody who talks about going back to school later in life ....my grandfather went to MD school at 79 because he was bored and never praticed with his degree.. so it is NEVER to late :)

I agree. Honestly, I don't think I will be completely satisfied with any answer I get until I see that acceptance/alternate/denial letter. Kudos to you for going back to school! I hope we all end up getting in together! It would be nice to see some familiar faces. :)

AWESOME! That's my kind of grandpa! I have an aunt and uncle that went to school and got their doctorate in theology. My uncle was already a preacher, but he wanted something extra and fun to do to fill his time. My grandmother went back to high school and graduated with her G.E.D. at 70 something...so I agree, it is never too late. I have a strange sense of humor, so don't mind me. Age is just a number...I still feel 18. And, I am lucky enough to have great genes and not look my number either! :yeah:

Yes, I think once we make it in (think positive!) we will be nervous enough about what to expect. It will certainly be nice to know some people from the get go. By the way, have you heard how much the books cost the first semester!!! Around $2,000....start saving or applying for loans now!

Haha I hope we all get in together also ark88 and maybe letters will go out sonner this year lol and lmthompson87 your grandmother story is FANTASTIC :)....and so is having good genes...and yes I have heard how expensive it is and I all ready pay for my school with loans that i have to pay back...YUKKKK so I have all ready braced myself

did any one get an answer from admissions today :)

the advisor said that the average was in the 40's for mar points and the number of people who applied with the teas being passed has not been figured out yet. the 2nd week of march is when the letters should be here!

Your offically the Best lol :) thank you soo much for the update! I am taking 166 on the Greensboro Campus and my other class is online so I feel out of the, "Loop" ha So how did that make you feel when she told you that? do you think us 40's ppl have a chance :nurse:

Personally, I feel great with that bit of knowledge, but I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch quite yet. I just sent off for my transcripts so I can apply to FTCC as well. I was feeling insecure with just having applied to GTCC alone. Mid March can't come quick enough! How do you feel about ark88's update, Ready2beAccepted?

BTW...my name is Linda...I hate being called by my log-in. If any of you are comfortable giving your first names that would be nice. If not, no problem.

Hey Linda , my name is Victoria! I have heard from numerous people that admissions said the 40 range was safe because of the new teas but I'm only in the 40 range by two points ! I would feel Better being at 46 Plus points but I know that on allnurses.com thread a girl said she got accepted into spring "12" with 30 points not as an alternate :) I'm thinking the range is lower bec of the new teas but like u said I'm not getting my hopes up! I'm in the process of getting my transcripts together for Forsyth but I have been to several different schools so hoping I can get it done in time! FTCC is a great nursing program,I was born and raised in Fayetteville and family is still there! So I think gtcc or FTCC you can't go wrong ! My bet friends mom graduated frm FTCC a couple years ago and she lOved it and they have about the same Pass rate as gtcc on the state exam :)

In the 40s? Dang! I'm pretty sure when I did my MAR she said I had 37 points (I have BA already and just went to UNCG to do Anatomy, Physiology, Stats, and Micro vs community college standards), and I got an 83.3% on the TEAS V. I'm hoping my TEAS score makes them look at me a bit harder!

I've also applied to the BSN program at UNC.. they're deadline was December 22 and they said don't expect letters until after March 15th. March cannot come soon enough!
