Afternoon,

I took and failed the NCLEX RN for the 2nd time on Monday. It shut off at 60 with no SATA. I felt really good about my questions and I'm at a lost on where I went wrong. I know shutting off at 60 means I did horrible. The first time my test shut off at 100 and by the review they mail out I felt as if I was really close, but now this time..... I have done Mark K. And Hurst. I am going to to take a 1month break because I have been at this since December of last year......any and all advice is appreciated... I am thinking about getting a tutor? I believe my issue may be trying to figure out what the question is actually asking-strategy???

I forgot to out that I have been an LVN for 8yrs.

Thank you!!

Are you currently working and reviewing right now? I am also taking my NCLEX RN next month, currently working as a home health coordinator. Work flow as of now is not really busy I got a lot of time to do rationale at work and q&a at home.

Yes I am working....I just tested Monday and fail....

I am so sorry to hear that. I also do not know if my ways of reviewing will work. I am using UWorld ONLY right now. My Plan B if this won't work, I will probably quit my job and only focus on the exam. My friendly advice is to study harder and dont let the failure stop you, instead be eager to study more. You can do this! Be optimistic and believe in yourself!

When you did the Mark K audios did you do the prioritization and delegation audio? that one he goes over what each question is really asking and what key words to look for.

I would also recommend archer review, also helps to show you distracting words and gives very thorough rationales on right and wrong answers !! Much cheaper than UWorld and still extremely high success rate. Try not to use too many review courses/objects because it will only confuse you. I would listen to mark k again for sure and look into archer review ! dont overdo the studying either, your brain gets tired and wants a break too !!

If you are working full-time and can switch and live w/ working part-time, I'd recommend that. At least for a few months so you can dedicate extra time to studying. It's always best when you can get extra study hours to really focus, rather than studying when you come back from work when you're tired.
