Hello. I am applying to Gtcc fall 2019 nursing program. Can anyone already in the program or those who have completed it tell me what to expect? I have heard their program is harder than any other schools. Also anyone who is applying, how many points are you all applying with? Does anyone know what a good point score is since they have now changed the ranking points?

Go to instacare. There’s one on lawndale. They are affiliated with Cone and even less expensive

Ok thanks everyone. I made an appointment with the health department for immunizations. I got titers drawn today. Ima go to fast med or InstaCare probably tomorrow for a physical. Hopefully I’ll be caught up with everything soon.

Has anyone set up there Kaplan Test Prep Account yet? I’m trying to on my iPhone, but not working. Also, excited about orientation for tomorrow ?

Hi,

I’m applying for the Spring 2020 ADN program at GTCC. There isn’t a forum for that semester, it may still be too early, but I wanted to post a question here in the hopes of getting some advice. I used the application packet to calculate my points, and according to my math I’ll have 47 points from the pre req courses. Do you think this would give me fair chance of being admitted? Also, are there additional points awarded for other things like Nurse Aid certification, or BLS, or having a pervious bachelors degree? Thanks very much for any information or assistance.

Hi Marcus92! You definitely would have a good chance of getting in with that amount of points! I got in with only 38. They do not give points for CNA nor BLS. I believe they do for a bachelors degree. The application online should tell you what you can get points for. Good luck!

At the nursing session I stepped out to the rr when y’all talked about the books. What was said? When do we find out what books we need to buy or were we already told?

She said bookstore will have the books 2 weeks before clas starts on 19th. One student ask what edition for the ADN program and she said definitely the third edition I do remember that being said. Also Dr. Windham stated that everyone must have a flu shot or a flu waiver on file by June 10 or at least it has to be at a minimum in the processing phase, which is exactly the opposite Of what Crystal said two months ago when she made a notation on the on boarding session and on phone to me stating that we would not have to get a flu shot since it is out of season and difficult to find; that we would be getting them in September anyways. But she did say in orientation and I’ve verified by phone that we are required to be 100% for Castlebranch in order to do clinic. So be sure to at least get it into the processing phase with castle branch or get in touch with her, dr windham.

If you click on nursing 111 on the bookstore website through GTCC it will give you a list of the books...if you don’t know how or you’re unable to see it I will look and see what I can find because I have them written down somewhere as to what they are requiring for the Fall per the bookstore website. Just let me know.

Ok thanks. I don’t see anything but that it’s a bundle and the price. I have everything completed already only thing left is to order books but I guess we’re not able to do that yet.

It says fall book list will be online June 10. I looked at last semesters supply list to see if anything changed. She said 3rd edition for fundamental books so they will be different than the ones with the Chinese lanterns used in 2nd edition. I can find the list and put what I found here once I find it lol.
