Gtcc fall 2019

Hello. I am applying to Gtcc fall 2019 nursing program. Can anyone already in the program or those who have completed it tell me what to expect? I have heard their program is harder than any other schools. Also anyone who is applying, how many points are you all applying with? Does anyone know what a good point score is since they have now changed the ranking points?

Hi I am in the Fall 2018 ADN Program at GTCC. It is hard, however with that said, read what they tell you to read, PHARMACOLOGY!!! Learn the endings for the classifications, mechanisms of actions and prototype drugs. We basically learned the entire Dosage calc book. Skills Practice, Practice, Practice and be mindful of not contaminating your sterile field! Clinicals just breath and stay busy! Your first head to toe assessment on an actual patient is nerve wracking but necessary, and the head to toe check off infront of the instructor well like I said Just breathe! Good Luck and keep pushing forward!

Thanks for responding I really appreciate it!

Does anyone know how many applicants? What are the points total? What is the decision date?

Hi! I went in today to turn in my application and asked these questions. Points are very different now so she wasn’t able to give me much info on that. I was told typically around 125 applicants every year. Desions should be made in 4 weeks from the application deadline so around March 15th.

Thanks for asking those questions!

Did she say how many applicants they usually accept out of the 125? I'm going by tomorrow so if you don't know I'll ask.

They accept about 60 into the program.

Hi everyone,

I called today to check on something else, and was told they have about 100 applicants so far.

Hey! I’m sure it’ll go up a little more since many tend to do things last minute, but only 2 days left till the deadline. Are you applying? How many points did you have?

Yes. I applied on Jan. 28. Around 40. What about you?

I applied with 38 points I believe. Im kind of worried bc the points are different from other years so we wouldn’t know what’s a good point score.

I think 38 is good. I compared my points to the old ranking points and I had 53 with that ranking system which is good. But we’ll see.
