Gtcc fall 2019

Hello. I am applying to Gtcc fall 2019 nursing program. Can anyone already in the program or those who have completed it tell me what to expect? I have heard their program is harder than any other schools. Also anyone who is applying, how many points are you all applying with? Does anyone know what a good point score is since they have now changed the ranking points?

That’s good. I wish I knew more about both programs bc if I get into both I don’t know which one to choose.

I am very familiar with Gtcc because I have a medical assisting degree from there. However I don’t know much about the nursing program, but have a heard a few things from other people. I do think that every school has its pros and cons

Gtcc would be closer for me but in the end it doesn’t really matter bc clinicals are sometimes far away too.

Very true

One of my friends sent this to me. Maybe we will know sooner rather than later. However, their applicant pool is not has large

One of my coworkers/friends applied for the lpn Rn bridge at gtcc. Their deadline was January 31st. They sent them an email with their letters on Monday. She said they sent them an email stating to speed up the process they doing emails instead of mailing out letters

Yeah I think only like 20 ppl are accepted in that program. For us they prob need more time to choose 60 plus alternates.

True. But you never know how many actually applied

Probably around 120 so only about half get in. Well we’ll know in about 3 weeks or so!

Ok I am really stuck as to which school I want to attend. Gtcc was my first choice bc it is a lot closer and I wasn’t even planning to apply to Forsyth, but I ended up doing so last minute. I have been looking at NCLEX pass rates and Forsyth tech has way better pass rates each year and in 2018 they had 98% pass rate while Gtcc had a 71%. I’m just really confused now..

I guess you have to weigh the pros and cons. Where did you find gtcc pass rate for 2018?

In the past they have averaged in the 85%. Which is a lot better. Grant it it’s not 98%. I guess at the end of the day you have to do what’s best for you. I wouldn’t change my decision just off of that. If it was consistently low then I would be concerned. Sometimes you have to wonder was it the student or the instruction? We will never know. At the end of the day you have to do your best at everything. They are still my first choice
