GSU Spring 2010

Published

I submitted my application for Georgia State University's nursing school last week. I thought I would start a new thread for everyone that is applying for the spring. I know that I will be checking my mail box religiously over the next few weeks!

bdanders, it will be great if you apply at gsu this fall. It will be so much fun because then you will have all the members in this forum feeding you valuable info. me included. I am sure we will all be looking forward to hearing from you. Just don't let this put you down and try to get as much A's this semester as possible.Good luck!

hi bellefemme! i am hoping to do the accelerated program. however, i went ahead and applied for both programs, just in case. i've been told that they will most likely offer you admission to the accelerated program first if you apply for both. then, you have the option to request to be moved to the traditional program if there is still space available. this is my second degree, so i am hoping to start my new career as soon as possible. are you taking your pre-reqs at gsu now? i'm finishing up micro lab and chem ii this semester. i hope they start sending out letters soon!

hi mixolydian,

congratulations on your acceptance.:up::yeah::cheers:

if you don't mind, i was wondering if you could recommend a microbiology teacher for both lecture and lab at gsu. what were the first chapters in both lecture and lab?

thank you so much in advance.

unfortunately i was right. i went to the nursing office this afternoon and was told my application was denied. i needed the points from the classes that i am currently taking, i didn't even have a shot. i wish they would have told me that beforehand... i'm probably going to apply to kennesaw and gsu for the fall semester. in the mean time looks like i've got plenty of time to increase my volunteer hours and travel with my husband on his business trips.

i wish you all the best of luck in the spring!

hi bdanders,

if i may ask, what classes are/were you taking this semester? i'm trying to take my remaining prerequisites(5 classes) during the spring semester at gsu for the fall 2010 program. i hope it won't affect my application/acceptance. i'm also trying to get some more voluteer hours at grady hospital now that finals are over.

i wish you all the best. i believe that you will be accepted into the fall program.

good luck.

i want to thank you all for the postings.:thankya: it's been informative and helpful.

congratulations to all the students who got accepted.:yeah::up::cheers:

the limit is beyond the sky.

thanks bellefemme! i would definitely recommend el-mayas for the lecture. you will just be assigned a teaching assistant for the lab. i really enjoyed micro, especially the lab. i think the first chapter for micro was over the history of microbiology and the microscope. good luck on finishing your prereqs!

quick questions for gsu students,

i'm sorry if i'm going off topic but who would you recommend for nurs 2010 and hhs 3000?

is it better to take eastman's 2010 online and howell's 3000?

thank you all so much in advance.:thankya:

i took 2010 online, and it was very easy. if you take it in person, you have to do a big group project. you write a personal health assessment and plan instead for the online class. i had lyn for hhs 3000, and it was a very good experience. i haven't heard anything about howell. hope this helps!

anyone else feeling a little anxiety about the new semester? super excited but super anxious too!

I did Eastman for 2010 and it was easy. Just read the book. I also had Rodney Lyn for HHS 3000 and personally found it to be a waste of two hours every week but that's just me. As for micro I would rec Roman if you can get in her class/if she is teaching this semester. She gives you a TON of extra credit for every test and makes the class not hard on her students.
