  1. i took 2010 online, and it was very easy. if you take it in person, you have to do a big group project. you write a personal health assessment and plan instead for the online class. i had lyn for hhs 3000, and it was a very good experience. i haven't heard anything about howell. hope this helps!
  2. thanks bellefemme! i would definitely recommend el-mayas for the lecture. you will just be assigned a teaching assistant for the lab. i really enjoyed micro, especially the lab. i think the first chapter for micro was over the history of microbiology and the microscope. good luck on finishing your prereqs!
  3. Congrats Ysosa! Looking forward to meeting you at orientation.
  4. Thanks bdanders! I wanted to thank you for sending me the private message last week as well. I wanted to reply to you, but realized that I'm not able to because I haven't made enough posts. I really hope you get your letter soon!
  5. I'm going to turn in the forms today. I think the schedule will be pretty tough. I've heard that the first semester is the hardest part of the ACE program. Everyone says you just have to make it through the first semester, and then it will be o.k. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!
  6. I wanted to let all of you know that I got my letter on Friday. I was out of town and couldn't check my mailbox until this morning. I was accepted into the accelerated program! Good luck to everyone! I hope all of you receive your letter soon!
  7. Thanks for the update bdanders! That seems like an awfully long time to wait. I wonder why it is taking longer this semester? It seems like people started getting letters 3 weeks after the deadline in past semesters. Maybe they had more applicants this time? I'm hoping that it won't take a month more to find out. Afterall, there are things we all need to prepare before January if we do get in. Don't we need to take a CPR class and get a physical? I know I should be patient, but I just want to be able to plan my future. I'm sure all of you are just as anxious!
  8. I haven't received anything yet either. I'm sure you are a good candidate too bdanders. You scored higher than me on the NET! I made an 88. So, I don't know if I would be in the perfect 25 category either. Does anyone know how exactly they calculate the points? I guess we will all hear something by the end of next week at the latest, based on last year's timeline. Good luck to everyone! I hope we all get in!
  9. Thank you so much for the information Jennieb30! I just applied to the accelerated program, and it was so helpful to get a feel of what the schedule will be like. I was wondering if you might have a feel for the chance I have of being admitted based on the current students in the program. I have a program GPA of 4.12, but my NET score was 88. I was really wanting to score in the 90's. I am hoping that they will focus more on my grades than the standardized test. I made A+'s in A&P I and II, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Abnormal Psych. Do you think this will compensate for my NET score? Congrats on your graduation in December!
  10. Thanks for finding that! The waiting is killing me already! This website is the only thing keeping me sane right now :-) Since today was the deadline for submitting an application, I was hoping that we might even hear something next week. But, I'm sure that is too optimistic. I bet they will need a while to read through all of the applications and get the letters printed. I turned my application in a month ago, but now I keep second guessing myself. I'm so worried that I should've taken the NET again before submitting. Oh well, I guess all I can do now is wait and see. Good luck to everyone!
  11. Hi BelleFemme! I am hoping to do the Accelerated Program. However, I went ahead and applied for both programs, just in case. I've been told that they will most likely offer you admission to the Accelerated Program first if you apply for both. Then, you have the option to request to be moved to the Traditional Program if there is still space available. This is my second degree, so I am hoping to start my new career as soon as possible. Are you taking your pre-reqs at GSU now? I'm finishing up Micro lab and Chem II this semester. I hope they start sending out letters soon!
  12. Yay! Glad to see someone else applying to GSU. I hope we hear back soon!
  13. I submitted my application for Georgia State University's nursing school last week. I thought I would start a new thread for everyone that is applying for the spring. I know that I will be checking my mail box religiously over the next few weeks!
