Hello all,
I am seeking any advice and input from any GS nurses working in Europe or who have been in such positions in the past. Please, PLEASE, reply here or PM me. Thank you so much in advance!

I was a GS RN at Landstuhl from 2008-2010. What would you like to know?

LDRNMOMMY, Do you still know any Nurse Managers at Landstuhl that I could interview with in January? I will be in Germany for a month and would like to speak with one if they had the time. I will be a new RN in May. Thank you.
Not anymore. We left in 2010 and everyone I worked with has left/PCSd. Here are the numbers to Civilian Personnel maybe they can assist you. DSN Phone:590-5359 CIV Phone:06371-9464-5359
Thank you!!!!
Thanks for replying! I want to ask how I could get my foot in the door for GS nursing. Should I join the military and do some time first? I've been applying for USAJOBS but as a new grad, that's about hopeless.

Get a year of experience elsewhere. The vast majority of GS jobs will not even consider you with less — you won't make it through the initial screening.
Joining the military is a long and arduous process, usually close to a year, and they are accepting very few new grads, if any. The Army wants direct commission nurses to have at least two years of experience. You don't just go "sign up" for any branch of service these days with everybody downsizing.
