do any of you remember having growing pains when you were having growth spurts? i shot up a few inches over a summer when i was 11 and i distinctly remember laying awake at night with the worst pain in my femurs, an aching, gnawing pain that had me in tears.
so when a baby grows an inch over a few weeks, do you suppose it hurts and that is why he gets really fussy for hours on end (this is usually once a week) when he is usually a quiet baby? all of his other needs have been met, he's dry and fed and burped and has pooped but screams bloody murder...

I don't know Lori. It is possible though, anything is. I don't know if there is a way to know if a baby is fussing if it is r/t bone growth. They get fussy for many reasons! I am no help, but I thought you deserved a reply :)

i remember both of my younger brothers had a lot of pain in their rib area around adolescents when they had growth spurts, both of them used to cry all the time from it and nothing helped the pain. i always had shin pain at that age...so i guess it would be possible that a baby would cry and be fussy if it's growing fairly fast.

with some of those growth spurts, my knees were always killing.
I would tell my parents, their response was
Go mow the yard
thats before the gas powered and self driven mowers nowadays
