Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone,

I wanted to start this thread to welcome the Grossmont nursing applicants for Spring 2024. I will also be applying to City College nursing program as a back-up. I've been looking forward to this day for years and applications open up next month. I  cant wait to hear from you guys. Please feel free to reply with your thoughts, comments, questions, points, TEAS, anything.

I had the same issue, I had to cut it short so it could all fit.

I just realized that 500 characters did not equate to 500 words haha ?‍♀️. Good luck to everyone!! I heard from others that they start sending out acceptances as early as late September :)

Hi guys! I applied with 90 points if everything is accepted. Feeling nervous!

Does anyone have an idea of what the schedule looks like?

Sharing because I didn't know how bonkers scheduling was (this is my example schedule it depends what day of clinical you get that lab days may shift for you)

So I was accepted late for fall (had no choice to pick a section) my schedule for the fall semester will be going to school every day. (Not all day but at least a few hours)

Monday lecture (7:30-11:15am)

Tuesday and Thursday (8-2pm) lab.
Fridays some in person and some through zoom (for pharmacology) asynchrony 8-10am

Weds will be my clinical days(6:30-4pm).
Half the cohort were able to get Monday lecture and lab the same day (7:30-6pm), so they have either tuesdays or Thursday's off (one also being a lab day) It all varies what section you are placed in. You will find out your clinical site early on. I heard after the first semester it's less hours you need to attend school but not sure if that's true. And also clínical sites for you should be rotated each semester. Hope this helps ?

Oh wow! Thank you so much for sharing. I work full time so I was wondering how that would change my schedule (if I get accepted). Sounds a bit hectic but definitely manageable. Again, thank you ?

Are you able to share where the clinical sites are?

Sure but don't know if they will pertain for next semester as I know they request permission months ahead and won't know if they are accepted for clinicals until closer to your start of program.
For this semester they are Scripps sd, scripps La Jolla, Alvarado, kaiser Zion and Sharp grossmont

Thanks SSZ!! This has all been so helpful for planning! I read the wrong rubric and have 85 points. So hoping I can squeeze in!

Hi everyone!

Just received an e-mail that I received a provisional acceptance! Would anyone be interested in starting a group chat/FB group?
