Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us applying to the nursing program at Grossmont College for the Fall 2019 semester. This will be my third time, yes I said it, third time applying! I am a veteran at this now, so feel free to ask me any questions. The first time I applied with a 76, the second time I applied with an 81, and this time I will hopefully be applying with 83-88 points depending on if they take my retake for Microbiology. I have done everything and anything to increase my points, and I am hoping that this time is my time (third time's a charm)! How many points do you guys think you have? I look forward to hearing from all of you, and good luck to us all!

Hey my first time on this post, very nervous! I just called the nursing office and asked when we would be hearing back. The lady was very nice, she told me hopefully everyone will find out by the end of the month. That makes me feel better, I was worried that I didn’t hear anything back yet because I was denied or my application was lost.

Hi! Yes, they usually say it will take about two months, but I was hoping it was earlier since the last 2 semesters it was ? I'm guessing they have a lot more applicants and tie breakers to go through causing them to take more time. Who knows.Thank you for calling and checking! How many points are you applying with?

I have 89 which I’ve heard is high but like you said they’ve got many applications this time around especially because brightwoods applicants are all applying as well. I wish they took more people instead of just 40. I asked MiraCosta what their average is and the lady said 92. Palomar said high 70s and grossmont didn’t give an answer, she said she doesn’t know they just take the top 40. Fingers crossed!

I tallied my points based on Grossmont's scoring rubric; they didn't tell me anything. I wanted to record my points here on allnurses, because when I was looking at RN programs, I kept checking this site to try to find out where the acceptance cutoff was for previous cohorts. I figure lots of other folks do the same.
And thanks! Good luck to you!
