Hi guys! Wanted to start this thread for those applying to the Fall ‘22 cohort. I emailed the school and was told that the typical size of each cohort is 40 students.
How many points are y’all applying with? I’m applying with 80-81 points.
For any current students, are my points competitive enough? I’d love to know, LOL. Thanks so much and good luck to everybody!
Good luck to everyone!
looking for feedback on grossmont and palomar nursing programs that any of you may have from your reserach.
Grossmont has 100% pass rate last couple of years but at both grossmont and palomar the number of students taking exam in 20-21 reduced to almost half of previous years. May be due to covid?
Any feedback on 2 schools would be appreciated!

I applied to grossmont because it's been my plan for years. I have friends that went through the program and loved it. They have a BSN bridge option with PLNU, a gret reputation amongst san diego hospitals, and they are a 10/15 minute drive from me. I was also between grossmont and cuyamaca for my pre reqs and even the professors for the pre req classes were very educated about grossmonts nursing program and designed their classes to help prepare you as much as possible for the ADN program. I had a good GPA, but it wasn't a 4.0. I made a point to take several semesters of ASL so I could get additional points for a foreign language. I think doing well on your TEAS and having some kind of previous healthcare cert/job experience is almost expected if you want to be competitive.
I took a few extra classes during pre reqs to get my associates in pre allied health, on top of having my MA certification, and work experience. My advice would be to do everything you possibly can to get more points because all the peograms in san diego/ California are very competitive. I don't know much about palomar, that was going to be an option if I wasn't accepted into grossmont, but it would've been a much further drive.
I have yet to connect with anyone else who was accepted and taking a seat at grossmonts program for this semester. (Reach out to me if you are)
