Grossmont Fall 2018 Cohort

Published

Is the right place for the topic? I tried to search for an existing thread but couldn't find it.

I'm hoping to meet other applicants for the Fall 2018 ADN program at Grossmont. I just finished my TEAS (92%) with an estimated 83-85 points overall. Let's get to know each other!

Turned everything in this morning! Now the waiting...someone said notifications in May right? I didn't ask how many applicants there were already. Do we get notified by email to confirm our application? Or just when we get acceptance notification?

I had taken then TEAS 12 years ago (after I finished my BA and was considering going for a second degree). I thought it was interesting that I needed to print out my score for the exam in 2006 as well as my score from this January. Thankfully my score this year was higher ;)

I'm a little anxious about not keeping the paperwork in an envelope, of course thinking I'd be the one that a paper would slip away from lol I think she stapled it all together though.

I'm calculating between 83-86 points (depending on if I get 3 points for working/low income/family circumstances). Hopefully we can all keep each other calm and motivated!

Finally found this thread! I am estimated and overall 79 points but I am so scared that won't be enough! I hear so many mixed things about people getting in with lower points than that and higher points! Is Grossmont everyone's first choice? Is it May yet?! The wait is killer. Thanks!

I have 84 points, but my first choice is the prelicensure program at WGU. If I get in there, I will not attend Grossmont. I prefer the flexibility of WGU's program. Also, Grossmont was pretty inflexible with me regarding transfer credits/waiving out of courses. Even though I have taken graduate/MSN level clinical pharmacology, the head of the nursing program didn't want to give me credit for basic pharma. [Eye roll] So, there is definitely hope, Whitney. Good luck to you.

hello every one I turned in my application for Grossmont too, did not know there was a threat glad I found one. calculated 86-87 points crossing my fingers. first time applying. trying to not think about it too much yet. lady said notifications go out in may, I thought that was way too long. I hope it really does not take that long =(. good luck to everyone!!!!

Does anyone know roughly how many applicants they got for this cohort?

Hi! Grossmont is the only school I applied to. I live 10 mins away (driving residential streets), so that was a huge factor. I also attended Grossmont many years ago, right out of high school. So I'm sort of bringing it full circle ;) I feel like May is soooo far away. I have two friends that I took pre-req's with that are also applying.

I'm not sure, a while back a counselor told me they get hundreds of applications, yikes. But I also talked to a current student who said they don't just look at the scores, they also strongly consider how well-rounded a candidate is. Not that someone with high scores can't be well rounded, but you get the jist.

I'm sorry to hear they're so inflexible with crediting previous courses, especially if it's advanced. I keep looking for details about the weekly schedule and clinical schedules. I'm a single mom with a daughter who will be in 3rd grade. Thankfully, I have family to help with child care and school pick up. But I'm curious to know how much help I'll need.

I'm thinking that first round of notifications will go out about April 10th or so. Looks like that's when last yr found out. A little more then 2 weeks left! Fingers crossed for everyone :) Lets keep each other updated when the notifications go out. Have a nice spring break!

Got the email that notices are going out! But I didn't get an acceptance yet í ½í¸³ I'll just be here biting my nails...

i got the email as well about notifications going out soon. hopefully soon means like... tomorrow lol maybe next week at least. so NERVOUS!!! Good luck!!

Just got the same email! Freaking out over here. I really hope they send it out ASAP! I can't take it anymore. So scared :(

Has anyone heard anything yet?
