Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

I continue to witness new levels of laziness/stupidity. The person in my ethics CLC who offered to edit is absolutely clueless. He went through the paper and changed all the citations so the they are this format:

According to Jones (1998), "Students often had difficulty using APA style, especially when it was their first time". (p. 199)

I reedited it to this format:

According to Jones (1998), "Students often had difficulty using APA style, especially when it was their first time" (p. 199).

He also had none of our names on the title page and instead had just blue group. And ever worse he did his part of the paper in the first person starting sentences with "I".

I pointed all of this out and he responded saying I was wrong on all counts. Regarding the title page he said "blue group is fine because she knows who we are". And regarding the citations he said "the period only comes after the citation if it's a direct quote". He then said "I am not sweating the small stuff". What!?!?!?

I told him to please change it the way that is stated per APA and GCU guidelines which he did but was not happy about it. I then stated I would ask the instructor for her input and he did not respond to that. Of course the other 2 lazy do as little as possible people in the group had no opinion this subject. So this morning the instructor replied to my questions regarding this and said I was right...nah nah na nahhhh nahhh. I posted her response for the group to see.

It seriously blows my mind that this far into the program someone can be sooooooo clueless and then argue about it. How are these people allowed to pass if they don't even know APA at all by now? They shouldn't be able to pass an ENG 101 class!

Wish they say they got better, lol 1 never really knows what class ur going to enjoy/hate! I'm not a religious person at all...but found spirituality interesting......As much as people "fear" Capstone, it was kind of an enjoyable class, as u get to pick the topic, which helps make it interesting.

Started my last class today..HLT 314....doesn't look too bad at all...yep, group project, but teams not formed yet.....July 26th can't come soon enough!

I am hoping Spirituality ends up being good, I too am not religious and am hoping for the best. I look forward to Capstone, just trying to think of a topic now. I have capstone in the middle of group of classes.

I noticed a few in my 1 class like to just cut/paste info from articles, and that is their DQ or reply......for fun I copied/pasted it and submitted it to Turnitin...came back at 45% similarity! Looked at the results..wow a lot of it highlited! I really think DQs should be submitted to Turnitin as well!! Good times

150-200 words only? My 800-900 word DQ posts would count for nothing!!
