Grand Canyon University- Fall 2014 Fast Track

U.S.A. Arizona

Hello!

Is anyone looking into GCU for the fall fast track program? I don't know where to start so lets chat!

There's a thread below started on this. :) Not many responses yet, but should grow with time. But, yes, I am hoping to be starting at GCU this fall, fast-track, Banner Boswell location. How about you?

Hello, I am waiting to hear about acceptance for Summer/Fall 2014. Good luck to you!

I am looking into the Fall start, have two pre-req to do first. Im looking into Scottdale

I'm looking to start in the fall either at Scottsdale or St. Joe's. I just have one more prereq that will be done in the summer but they told me to apply anyways. Has anyone heard much about the fast track program or know anyone that has been through it?

I've only been reading through all the threads on here with previous cohorts but nothing more.

From what I have heard ( and I could be wrong, so please jump in anyone who knows..) is that the time in class is the same as the traditional program. The difference is we go through summer where the traditional program does not. So the traditional program is 4 semesters (Fall, Spring and Fall, Spring). The fast track is also four semesters, but uses summer as one. So if you start in Fall, it is Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall. I am not sure if there are other differences..? :) I know someone who went through St. Joe's fast track program and she loved it! She is now employed at a big hospital in the Valley.

Desertlady, From my understanding that its basically a year round program with a week break in spring and summer and 2 weeks for fall. This was what I read on other threads. I don't like how everything isn't very clear on GCU website or during the information session that i attended. I finding more out on these thread which are very helpful.

MoseL, I totally agree!! I'm looking for a webpage that clearly lays out all of the expectations for the prerequisites, deadline for application, and background check information.....I guess I need to go dig out my information session packet! :bored:

I really haven't had much luck in communicating with advisors as well! When I do have questions they seem to not know the answers and tell me they will get back with me, but never do!

the info packets don't say much except everything is due by May 15th and that we have to either be in the process of getting everything before classes start or have it done by than. I've only spoke to one person from GCU and that's what he had informed me of...other than I'm not sure.

I'm also looking to start the fast track program in the fall. I heard that now they use HESI exams instead of TEAS and that there is no minimum score, which basically means that you could get any score and still get in; I understand that all the really look at is your GPA and science GPA. I wonder why that changed, perhaps because they are trying to get more students to attend since it's very expensive. But, the way I look at it is that I'll be done in 16 months with a BSN, and off to work as an RN:))
