Grand Canyon University- Fall 2014 Fast Track

Published

Hello!

Is anyone looking into GCU for the fall fast track program? I don't know where to start so lets chat!

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to start in the fall as well. I'm flying out to take the Hesi next week (I live in Nor Cal) and am nervous! I'm currently taking critical thinking and chemistry, and plan on Stats over the summer.

My sister in law just graduated in October and was very happy there which is why I choose to pursue GCU so strongly. Nice to know someone personally who was happy there.

Did she give any advice about the program, if so would you mind sharing some insight on what to be prepared for?

Hi JulianaOlson

I hope you are right about the Hesi. I just took my Hesi and I got a 74 overall since they are not including the Biology section. But, i scored high 80's in both the Math and Reading. My GPA should be a 3.6 after this semester and my science GPA should be at a 3.4 so Fingers crossed this is enough for the Tucson program!! EEEK I'm gonna be a nervous wreck until June. I'm trying really hard to through myself into my classes and not worry about it..... but as you can see its hard LOL

I'm also looking to start the fast track program in the fall. I heard that now they use HESI exams instead of TEAS and that there is no minimum score, which basically means that you could get any score and still get in; I understand that all the really look at is your GPA and science GPA. I wonder why that changed, perhaps because they are trying to get more students to attend since it's very expensive. But, the way I look at it is that I'll be done in 16 months with a BSN, and off to work as an RN:))

She hasn't given much advice as to the program however, she did great in it. She said it will keep me very occupied (makes sense) but that she didn't have trouble keeping up. She maintained A&B's through out the whole program :)

Has any ever heard of anyone not being accepted and what is the minimum GPA anyone has got in with and does the HESI weigh in on the selection process since there is no "minimum" score required?

What exactly are the pre reqs needed before applying to the nursing program? I am interested in applying to the the program in Tucson, for fall of 2015, but I have not heard much about it. I already have two bachelor's degrees in biology and psychology, but I am assuming I will need to take extra classes like anatomy and physiology before applying. I just need to figure out what other classes I will need to take and the process for applying. Thanks!
