Does anyone know about Grady Nurse Residency Summer 2021 ? I am trying to do application but I can't find when and where to apply for it. Please let me know if any hints. Thank you so much!

Does that include specialty pay ? Or just standard without anything

hello, I was an extern this past Summer and I was nervous about not having the hour required for critical care. do you mind telling me what they said to you about the hour requirement with externs? TIA!

I’ve applied at Northside hospital, Emory midtown, and Wellstar. So far Emory is the only hospital to offer me a position.

She told me that since I am an Extern that it validates my hour requirement.

I used to work at Northside but at currently an Extern at Wellstar Douglas. 
 

I’m doing clinicals with Piedmont so I applied there.

are you an extern on an ICU unit? and is Michelle Pittman doing the residency like she did the externship?

Yes I am an Extern in an ICU and yes she is the one who emailed me back.

oh okay! I was an extern on the neuro med surg floor but I really want to work in a neuro ICU so im hoping this will help me.

I think that it will help. Did you have any clinical hours or classes about critical care ?

unfortunately I was not able to get an ICU practicum, that is why I get nervous about not getting a placement in an ICU but since im internal im hoping they could be a little more giving LOL

I definitely get it. I’d even speak to the manager of Neuro ICU. Maybe you can play your cards that way. I wasn’t able to get it at my school either, we couldn’t really rely on spots until the last min. I was thankful enough to land an Extern position.
