I am just starting to take a deep breath. This semester started out really hard but now it looks like those of us that are still standing will be walking across the stage in 3 months, fingers crossed/antijinx!!
I'm excited to think that most any area of nursing will be available to me once I can put RN behind my name. I'm very excited.
This semester is tough for me too. I do like it better though because we are studying critical care. I feel I am actually learning something new. Med Surg is more of an intense overview for me. I do not have any experience with vents, Swan Ganz, or A-lines so I really perk up during lecture and even find myself going further to research topics. We have completed our last Big 30+ Nsg process paper and have a few exams left. I absolutely love the ICU rotations at clinicals. I feel we have peeked and are heading down the hill towards NCLEX! Good luck Jules!
I envy you. I was right at the 8 weeks mark and I went to clinical with Satan and flunked.
I know that this happens to no one but me.
I can't go back to the school from which I was.
I can challenge for my LPN and will.
What other colleges are there on line besides Indiana State and Elsior.
I want to do an online where there is an actual nursing school present.
I live in Maryland. I had heard that MD does not grant license for onliners.
Is this correct?

Its my understanding that Maryland isn't accepting Excelisor any longer and I also think that you have to at least have your LPN first. Do you think you will be able to get your LPN? I haven't heard about anyone being able to get their LPN without being in a program but I'm no expert on the subject. There are so many schools in Maryland and you definitely aren't the only one this has happened to, good luck.
Hey Kriso,
I am soooo right there with you. I am doing the LPN to Rn in Ky. and I really didn't think I would make it this far. There are so many things that I used to take for granted that I can't wait to do again. Like Clean my house (never thought I would say that).
Are you required to do the 120 hours of clinicals before and after graduation? I had heard that it is just here in Kentucky for now but I didn't know. Anyway I wish you all the luck and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask.
travel soon,
I'm not familiar with the 120 hr clinical requirement. I just blindly go to clinicals when I am told- lol. Once we take finals on May 12th and pass, we are considered graduate nurses. As far as I know, we do not have an amount of clinical hours to have after graduation. The board sends out your "permission to test" after completing graduation. Hopefully, I will be scheduled to take NCLEX the first 2 weeks of June. I know we have a certain amount of clinical hours we have to have but am not sure of the exact number. Good luck!
P.S. I need to clean my house too (although "can't wait to" is a stretch!)
I graduate June 13th. Getting ready to do preceptorship Spring quarter, we have to do 150 hours with the preceptor here in Ohio. Just finished Complex Needs (Critical Care Nursing) and I passed with a 95% on my final and a 93% which is a B for the course. I don't know what other types of grading scales everone else has here, but it's a 95% and above for an A at my school.

About 8 weeks to go and I am ready for it to be over so I can concentrate on NCLEX!
Here's what I am ready for...
actual days off.
not buying computer ink in the jumbo packs.
throwing my extra scantrons in the fire.
going somewhere without my books (and not feel guilty;).
not doing 12 hr shifts every single weekend at the hospital.
getting financial compensation for the work I already do.
planning a vacation.
my signature with RN behind it.
How about you?
