Graduated Nursing here in PHL, wanted to be USRN in Iowa. What are the steps?

Published

Hi there.

I have a dilemma here in the Philippines. I wanted to become a USRN in Iowa but Im afraid because I have no idea of how am I going to the US taking exams since I am Filipino Citizen. I have a friend who's willing to help me pursuing and becoming a Nurse there but I dont know what to do. Please someone advice me what to do. How to have student visa, and not to deny by the US immigration. Thank you.

I think its easier to apply and get approved in australia. May it be for student visa or working visa. I don't mean to be of any discouragement but it's hard now starting in the US. I was also a graduate from the philippines. Went through the process of getting the student visa, then now an immigrant. I went through hard times but am not saying its impossible.

thanks cherrybee

NCLEX can be taken anywhere in the world that has a Pearsonvue test center and is given permission to hold the NCLEX. You do not need a student visa for the NCLEX.

You need to meet the BON requirements for International Educated Nurse and pass NCLEX then you have the long journey of finding a employer willing to wait the 3 plus years it takes for you to get a immigrant visa allowing you to live and work in the US.
