Graduate in 4years ago, Never took the Test need help how to take EXAM

Hello,

I graduate 4 years ago. After that I join the Army. I never had the chance to take the test because of the War. Now that I'm back here in the U.S I need help on what I need to do to process my paperwork to take the Board(NCLEX). HELP ME

You did not state if you are planning on taking the NCLEX-RN or the NCLEX-PN exams. Each state has its onw requirements, you may or may not be requried to take a refresher course. It will also depend on the work that you were doing in the service. If is was medical related, you should not have a problem. But you will need to contact the BON for the state where you wish to get licensed, and go from there. They have final say, not any of us....

HI, I ALSO FAILED MY BOARDS 2X I HAVE TAKEN THE KAPLAN REVIEW :uhoh3: AND HAVE COUNTLESS BOOKS AND CDS TO STUDY FROM. EACH TIME I HAVE TAKEN THE ENTIRE TEST AND HAVE GOTTEN NEAR PASSING ON EACH ITEM. THE LAST TIME I TOOK THE TEST WAS IN DEC 2003. I HAVE FOUND THE COURAGE TO BEGIN MY STUDYING AGAIN. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO BEGIN MY VENTURE? I LOVE NURSING AND WAS AN A STUDENT IN COLLEGE BUT THEY DID NOT PREPARE ME FOR MY BOARDS. I AM A MOTHER OF 4 AND NEED ANY HELP I CAN GET!!!

Hi, I failed my boards the first time I took them. I too had all 265 questions. However, the second time I took them I passed! I took the online NCSBN review, which I found to be VERY helpful. I definitely would recommend that to anyone having problems with that test. Stay positive and have faith. You WILL make it! Good luck. Here is their website, I hope you go and check it out, it is well worth it. (I think Kaplan is a BIG waste of time and money)

If it's been that long, I strongly suggest taking a review course that includes content. Hurst review has an excellent content review. http://www.hurstreview.com and also http://www.medspub.com Meds has a great content review course.

The other site mentioned above NCSBN is really good too. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Kaplan is more for test taking strategies, they feel you got content in school so they are not their to teach it again.

just like the post before mine...kaplan has great strategies but you have to study on your own...the review is not comprehensive but i think it helped me pass the nclex-rn.i also bought the saunders comprehensive review and the saunders Q&A book...also the lippincott nurse 3000 cd
