Any suggestions on where to take M.A.N. in Manila? Criteria:

--credibility of the school/university

--tuition fee costs

Comments will be highly appreciated...Thanks and God bless...

First question: What are you planning to do with it? If for working in the US, would not bother with it as it is not accepted as the MSN in the US nor will it get you the EB-2 status as far as immigration for the US.

I'm planning to teach in the Philippines. :nurse:

try UP manila or PLM.

Most nurses taking the MAN here want to pursue a career in the academe. This is the Philippine Nursing Forum after all so let's not assume that every question is somehow related to working in the US. There are a lot of issues that someone outside the country will never hope to understand or appreciate.

Sorry, but the original poster has posted on other forums here concerning the NCLEX exam, so that is why I was asking.

I have learned never to assume anything, that is why you always see me asking questions about everything.

And I am very aware of what goes on in your country with almost everything.

based on what i heard from a lot of people (reviewers, and faculty members) UP-CN is the gold-standard in nursing education here in the RP...even most of the people sitting in the Board of Nursing are from UP

I've posted on the NCLEX forum regarding my NCLEX but that doesn't mean I don't want to pursue my dream of becoming part of the academe in the Philippines. So I'm inquiring on pursuing higher studies in the here.

I am also aware than MAN is different from MSN degree in the USA. Perhaps I can pursue both in the future. :wink2:

I'm thinking of pursuing my MAN either in UP Manila or at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Thanks again.. God bless

you got it right man!!!:.:)..:yelclap::rckn:

My question on the Masters degree is related to the recognition of this degree outside of the Philippines. There are a few schools who offer a Masters of Science (MSN) instead of Masters of Art (MAN) degree. I ask the difference for this reason; since retrogression may hold a nurse back at least 3 years here in the Philippines, would taking the MSN degree during that time elevate their status when going to Canada, USA, Australia, etc? I know the MAN is not accepted, but would the MSN from Silliman or SLU (both VERY highly rated Universities) be recognized as a post grad degree?

Thanks
