Hi I am a 2006 LPN graduate who took the Nclex a month after graduation while also taking care of my 2 children and dad who had several medical issues at the time and to make a long story short took the test didn't pass while still caring for my dad and children til his passing. Decided to try again and actually did better then the first time but not good enough. After that I can admit to getting a little discouraged about taking it again but now that has passed and I'm very ready to study and pass this test and get on with this part of my life. Not sure what is the best studying material but what I have is Exam Cram PN 2e, Saunders Comprehensive Review for Nclex Pn 4e, Saunders Q&A Review for Nclex RN 4e and was thinking about taking the Kaplan Review. Please feel free to leave your advice it is very much appreciated.Thank you:yeah:
In my opinoin you have to determine why are failing.
You are selecting the wrong answers! why?
Bad strategy? (The Kaplan books is good addressing this)
No confidence?
Lack of knowledge of content? (probably not)
Is english your first language?
Computer literacy?
SATA questions? Reading into answer choices possibly?
Attention issues?
Determine the reason. Address the reason.
Good luck!

Yes I have determined why I failed the two times. I really wasn't prepared to take the test either time I had a lot going on at both times I had not study like I should have I knew the content but my mind was somewhere else, I was very nervous, it seemed like I had forgot everything I had learned. And I could admit that a couple of the things you have listed here as being possible reasons of me failing probably was with everything else I had going on at the time. So I thank you for bringing all of those back to the forefront to help me re-examine myself and how to be more prepared this time for the test.
i failed the nclex first time and passed the second time. My advice to you is that since you have been out of school for a while, start first with content. If you know why BP is going up and why it is going down then you can answer any question on BP. Strategy books help only when you are very comfortable with content. after i knew my content inside out i was able to device my own strategy on how to answer questions and it worked for me.
@motheroftwokids what is the link to NCLEX 3000? Goodluck on your studying! You will pass this time!
Not sure if this is really it but this is what I found and it's free hope it helps!!
