Grades!!! Lone star student.

I may make a B in my Math 0308. So far I have made a A in pschology, a A in eng 1301, and in everything else I have taken. I am taking A&P this summer. Is the B in math going to destroy my chances? I know it is the eng, psch, and Bio that GPA really counts. However, in all of the other pre reqs, if less then a A is made, does it have a huge impact on the points of getting into the nursing program?

If you get one B, probably not.

If you get Bs in a bunch of prereqs then it might, even if they are in the less important classes. Some schools put more weight on gpa than other schools do. If your school gives work or volunteer experience as much as weight and you are counting on your grades to overcome a light history then even a couple of Bs could be a problem, where if your school counts only test scores and gpa and your test scores are very high, then you can afford more Bs.

It also depends on the pool of applicants when you apply. A few B's might be a problem one year and not in another year.

They will only look at your GPA for those three classes. (Psych, Eng, & A&P). If you don't have A's in all three of those classes then you will not get the full 4 point for that section. You have to pass all the others with a C or better but it will not effect your points for Lone Star if you do not get an A in any other class.

I hope that answers your question. Let me know if you have any other questions about the program. :)

I have a C in all my science classes (the only c's I have) and I just got accepted, so no.

It's fine to have a B in 0308. It is a developmental class and carries only instutional credit and it's not going to hurt you.

What I would worry about is trying to take API over the summer. If it's a 12 week class that might be ok, but in 6 weeks if you have no science/anatomy background will be hard I think.

This may be true for your program but I guarantee you that for the Lone Star program, you would not have been accepted with C's in science classes, at least the A&P classes. Competition is tough for Lone Star.

I read it wrong and it won't let me edit

As long as you have A's in one of your A&P classes, psych, and eng, it doesn't matter. Take a look at the scoring chart they have on their website.
