Who's applied to GPC for the fall?
You don't need to be done with science before applying, but they do like you to be done with all your general education before you start nursing coursework. According to the acceptance package, you can have up to six credits general ed to finish up when you start nursing courses, and you can even do 1612 first semester and 1913 second semester of nursing school, but they REALLY discourage it and say you must do it nights, weekends or online. How close you are to being done with general ed and science is something they told me they definitely consider in admissions. You don't have to be done before you apply, but they would like to see that you have a plan to be done before nursing classes start.
Well I ended up getting an acceptance letter to GPC. I had contacted them to find out why I did not get in, and they had miscalculated my GPA, so she sent me a packet - how weird is that. I am posting so that for those of you that are close, its a good idea to at least contact them and find out why you didnt get in, at a minimum it gets their attention, and shows them how much you want it.

Hi Kiki! Thanks for the suggestion, I will have to look into State :) They were actually my first choice because I would like to get my bachelors and perhaps one day a masters, but I figured their program would be harder to get into , and im sure it is overall, but that is nice they give you second chances to work harder and do better! Wish I did not cross them off my list earlier
And who knows, maybe be will be classmates in the Fall at Gwinnett Tech! Im not holding my breath, but you never know a miracle may happen, and I might get in, and im sure you will get in there for sure!
keepmoving, I know it is a bummer they hold retakes agaisnt you so much! BUT I believe there is a school out there for everyone, and GPC is just not it for me. Its not a bad thing to reward people for doing good the first time.
