I got my acceptance letter today for Fall 2009, and was denied yet I had 83 on NET and 3.5 science GPA. This is really depressing. I am going to think about changing majors.
Wow, what was your overall GPA??? Did you apply anywhere else?
You could still have a chance, there were a handful of people for Fall 08 that at first recieved a rejection letter but then later recieved an acceptance letter. If your overall GPA was as good at your science (or at least a 3.0) and you have all your required pre-req's completed you might consider calling the nursing office or going to speak with them about why you were denied... Maybe it was a mistake.
here are my stats and like i said i was first denied into the fall semester but accepted into the spring
gpc nursing courses/ NURSING PRE REQ gpa= 3.72
overall gpa 2.69 (from non nursing related courses) switched my major like 2 times before deciding on nursing (brought my overall up from a 1.83 to this once i decidied i was going to be a nurse)
scince gpa= 3.83
net scores 83 (90 math, 76 reading )
all pre req’s taken at gpc

Does anyone know if you have an advantage to getting into the program if all of your pre-reqs are complete when you apply? I have finished all the required classes. My GPA is okay, and my NET score was not too great. I am just worried because it seems like most everyone does very well on the NET and has a very good GPA. Just trying to find out if I have any advantage. I am worried and driving myself crazy. Thanks for any input.
